Our vibrant and dedicated parent body joins forces with the school to create an enriched environment.
The opportunity for involvement is varied and flexible and can meet the needs of most parents schedules. The Volunteer Committees include Beautification, Hospitality, Country Fair, Auction and Photography, and encourages parents to support the school in day to day
activities.
The Cobb School also hosts special events such as the "Parent Education Series", aimed at furthering knowledge and understanding of Montessori Education and the parents role in supporting their
children.
Each year the school organizes social events such as "Dinner with Friends" where Parents and Staff come together in relaxed home settings for a casual dinner.
New parents are especially welcomed into our community. There are plenty of opportunities to make friends, meet staff and other parents.
The Cobb School organizes and hosts several 'outreach' programs and events that create
and foster our relationships with the local community.
Country Fair - One of our most successful and entertaining family occasions. Fun and games for children of all ages, join in with face painting, arts and crafts, obstacle courses, hidden treasure and much more! Plus there's the added temptation of the Harvest Table filled with sumptuous goodies...
Circus Smirkus - Each year, Cobb School students experience the magic and joy of the circus acts with a one week Circus Smirkus Residency program.
The Acorn Singers - children in our after school choral program delight and entertain senior citizens.
Classroom Community Support - Children in our Elementary programs are involved in several community 'out reach' programs. These have included: Katrina relief efforts, American Heart Association, and food share collections.
These are just a few of the local recreation facilities available:
